PIX #002

PIX#002 presents you with four pictures - a mushroom, a cup of tea, the symbol for pi, and the Statue of Liberty. In the middle is a row of eight diamonds arranged in four pairs and each pair appears to be associated with one of the four icons. You might reason that each icon contributes two letters to the solution, which is eight letters long in total. 'Pi' is already two letters long, which would seem to fit with this.

The images of the mushroom, cup of tea and Statue of Liberty each bear the instruction '-c'. Therefore, each of these presumably represents a set of three letters, one of which is a 'c' and is to be removed to leave just two letters to contribute to the answer. Note that for the Statue of Liberty image the 'c' is capitalised. Could this represent 'NYC' - and hence 'NY' once the 'C' is subtracted? The cup of tea could represent 'cup' - but then why does it contain tea? 'Cha' could also fit. The mushroom is quite tricky. 'Cap' looks like a possibility - and 'cep' is also a type of mushroom...

After subtracting the letter Cs and arranging the letters in order, we have AP or EP (for the mushroom), PI (for pi), UP or HA (for the cup of tea) and NY (for the Statue of Liberty). Did you notice that the pi symbol is back to front?

Checking through a few permutations leads us to the answer EPIPHANY - and a lightbulb moment!
